In Maths the children have been looking at volume and capacity and exploring different ways to measure and represent our key mathematical vocabulary – full, empty, half full, almost full and almost empty. The children enjoyed using the water during our lessons and worked on becoming super Collaborative Crabbies.
In English the children created and describe our very own carnival veggies to join Supertato at the Supermarket Carnival. Kit designed a broccoli with a top hat as tall as a mountain! Milla designed a carrot with sparkly rainbow feathers!
In Topic the class created Carnival posters for our carnival day on Wednesday 23rd March and will be putting them up around the school.
Wednesday Year 1 collaborated with Year’s 2, 3 and 4 for a Wonderful Woodland day; where we build dens, made friendship bracelets, played hide and seek, jumped in the stream and made memories that will last a life time. We had a fantastic time in the afternoon completing team building activities; making spaghetti towers, obstacle courses and nature pictures. See more here.
To finish the week off the children created beautiful glittery coasters for the Year 1 coffee morning next Wednesday and had a super fun Popcorn Party!
Everyone is very much looking forward to Pre-Prep Spotlight week next week!
