In partnership with Racing to School, a charity aiming to inspire young minds via racing, the children enjoyed a day at the Races this week! They took part in different activities looking at the different elements of Maths involved in the racecourse. They’ve been measuring the distance around the edge of the parade ring, calculating how many horses can safely walk it simultaneously, learning how far a furlong is and where the term came from, examining a jockey’s equipment, learning about the weight limitations and how handicapping races works, watching the first race of the day and having bags of fun!
