For the first time this year Pennthorpe’s first time Goblin Racers (Felix, Freddie, Harriet, Romilly, Lexi, Zahira, Sam and Thomas), took to the track at Seaford College near Petworth, last week.
With incredibly supportive parents, the team enjoyed pleasant surroundings with lovely sunny weather. Competing against 40 other cars from schools across the South East region, the event was extremely well organised by the volunteers of Greenpower charity.
The children drove and pushed (very important) with calm professionalism and skill. Demonstrating their practice over the last few weeks on club night was justified. Most children had at least 3 opportunities to race.
We now just have 4 short weeks to hone both cars (Green Goblin and Go Go Go Pennthorpe), together with our driving and pushing skills, before the season ends at Goodwood race meeting, on Sunday 10th July. Wish us luck and good speed!
