The impact of the war really struck the children as they were able to see for themselves the conditions of the trenches and the consequences for many. There were many emotional moments including reading some unfinished love letters from fallen soldiers, poetry from the trenches and culminating in the Menin Gate Ceremony.
It was not all serious though as the students took the time to visit a Belgium chocolate shop (with free samples of course!) and had a lovely meal together in a Belgian restaurant.
Today the class will visit one of the oldest theme parks in the world, for a last hurrah before heading home.
