We have been truly inspired today by Old Pennthorpian Annabelle Esslemont-Edwards’ visit, who has shared with the children and staff her challenge of a lifetime; a 9 day hike up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Ahead of Annabelle’s quest, starting on the 28th August, our children and staff wore purple, sported crazy hair dos and did their bit towards this amazing cause. Each child was invited to climb the hillside in the woodlands, with a view to cover the distance (as a collective!) up Kilimanjaro in one day.
The children have been enthused and inspired by Annabelle’s visit today. We can’t wait to hear all about Annabelle’s experience and we will keep you posted. Good luck, Annabelle! We are so proud of you 💪🏻
More pics to come … in the meantime, here are the fabulous Mrs Daly and Mrs Tusler in their purple-themed outfits!
