It’s not too late for current Year 6 pupils to sign up to be a Silver Stories Reader. Please come and see Mrs Butcher in the Library at lunch or break if you would like to volunteer.
Not only is reading books over the phone an enriching experience for pupils, it develops interpersonal skills across generations and makes a huge difference to the lives of the listeners. Many Silver Stories Listeners face daily challenges such as social isolation or poor health, and the regularity of looking forward to a Silver Stories phone call (supervised by Mrs Butcher) once per week is an important lifeline. Volunteer Silver Stories readers keep this going so please do contact the library if you are currently in Year 6 and can help!
