My Life In….

It's MFL Spotlight Week and instead of learning French in their languages lessons this week, some of our children were treated to some fabulous presentations.

The Owl Class heard and saw some of the differences between life in England and life in Italy and secondly learned some interesting information about Swahili. The class then all had a go at singing the song Jambo Bwana. Many thanks to Daniel and to Ella for all their hard work and introducing their friends to so many interesting facts and new words.

Woodpecker class learned all about Spain and Cambodia during their languages lesson. Thank you to Lupe and Samantha for all their hard work and for sharing so many fascinating facts!

James in Year 3 did a fabulous presentation to his class on South Africa. His presentation included some fantastic photos of the delicious South African food he has made and entered into the Cooking Competition*.

Yarik in Year 4 shared a beautiful presentation to his class about Ukraine and the town where he lives, Faheem thoroughly enjoyed teaching his class some words in Arabic and Freya introduced her class to a Swahili song which is very popular in Kenya called Jambo Bwana and we all joined in!

Year 5 were also treated to two fabulous presentations in their languages lesson. First a fascinating introduction to the Democratic Republic of Congo from Rebecca who was living there until May of this year and then learning some information about Belgium from James and William who were born there. Many thanks to Rebecca, William and James and their families for all their hard work and for introducing the class to so many interesting facts.

On Tuesday afternoon, Year 6 watched a delightful video of Zahira and her Dad talking about the Sudan and learning some Arabic. During their languages lesson this week, Year 6 were also transported around the world with four fascinating presentations on Russian, the UAE, France and Sweden. Thank you to Zhenya, Alvaro, Tristan and Tilda for all your hard work.

Elli gave a fascinating talk about the Democratic Republic of Congo to Year 7 in the Attic. Elli grew up in the DRC before moving to Sussex earlier this year and it was wonderful to be able to give her the chance to share a little of her previous experience with her classmates! And Oliver talked to the Seniors about what he loves about France and all things French.
