A round up of the boys’ matches…
- The U13s travelled to Hurst to play a hockey fixture. The U13As had a really good and competitive game against Hurst. Hurst were quicker out the blocks but Pennthorpe came back into it. It was a great effort from all the boys and much improved skill by all and with Johnny and Osman had great link play up front and great work rate.
- The U13Bs had an exciting game against Hurst with it being end to end for the whole game. There were great passages of play from both teams. Logan stood out with his defensive work rate and also all around the pitch.
- The U10s were at home against Hurst. For them it was their first time this season as playing as a year group and they had a lot of fun. The team showed great determination throughout the game and worked really hard.
- The Year 3 and 4 boys played against Copthorne and Belmont. The conditions on Thursday meant that it was going to be a very wet and windy match. Excellent resilience shown by all the boys and the boys held their positions well and had very competitive matches in the afternoon.
And for the girls….
- The U13 girls had a touch rugby festival here at Pennthorpe. It was a great day of rugby from the senior girls. We mastered the offside line quickly and worked hard for each other in defense. Eli made some wonderful runs with the ball and both Saskia and Niamh showed excellent footwork to beat defenders. Everyone had a great time, especially playing in the mud! Poppy showed some great leadership throughout the games they played in the afternoon.
- The U10s travelled to Belmont for a football tournament. A great effort by all the girls in their football festival. Running, scoring and saving! Well done to Olivia, who didn’t let any goals in! A great way to end the football season!
- The Years 3 & 4 girls took part in a football tournament at Longacre on Thursday. It was a very wet afternoon but the girls showed grit and determination and played some exceptional football. Freya, Maisie, Phoebe, Bella & Lilly walked away with a win to end the season on a high! Every member of the team played incredibly well, and thoroughly deserved the win.
- Girls’ football is on the rise at Pennthorpe. A second and third place finish overall is an incredible achievement after such a short term. In group two at Longacre there was some incredible football and the girls completed their season with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats. WELL DONE ALL!
