As part of the Pennthorpe Academic Scholarship Program, our Year 7 and 8 Scholars enjoyed a day trip to the now world famous Bletchley Park.
The students learnt how thousands of men and women worked secretly and tirelessly at the site during World War 2 in efforts to crack the Axis forces coded messages, supporting the Allies route to victory. They were given the opportunity to crack some codes and even try out an Enigma Cryptology Machine used by German Forces.
The talks, tours and attractions gave students an insight into how technology and techniques used during the war have shaped the technology we use today in our everyday lives.
Despite the long journey back, a great day was had by all!
