The children explored the Eureka principle through experiments. They gathered the resources needed and various weighted objects to see what happens to the water level once immersed. Thankfully it was a nice sunny day to carry out a wet experiment!💦
The story behind “EUREKA!’
While Archimedes was taking a bath, he realised the water level rose when he was sitting in it… but lowered again when he got out of the bath!
At this point he finally understood that the volume of water displaced must be equal to the volume of the part of the body he had submerged!
At this point, he ran out of the bath, and shouted ‘EUREKA! EUREKA’ as he ran through the streets…. forgetting to put some clothes on!
