The Year 3 and 4 students have today showcased their problem-solving skills by taking part in the First Maths Challenge. The First Mathematics Challenge (FMC) has been specifically created to give all pupils in Years 3 and 4 the opportunity to take part in a National Challenge. It offers an enjoyable and exciting experience for all pupils across the two year groups, boosting confidence in Mathematics and showing children the different ways questions can be asked and a solution arrived at. Produced by The Mathematical Association, the FMC encourages pupils to think outside the box. Many of the problems are not heavily reliant on mathematical knowledge, but can be solved by logical reasoning. All students displayed growth-mindset and perseverance throughout. Well done Years 3 and 4!
