A round-up of this week’s matches:
- The Year 6-8 girls started their hockey season very strongly at Lancing College with some big wins in their opening games. Oliva, Tilda and Rosie shone in their respective teams and the girls highlighted some excellent individual skill to break open the opposition defence.
- The Colts & Senior boys had a mixed bag of results this week, playing some strong Copthorne sides. The Colts A put in a wonderful team performance, with James running the game with his fantastic game awareness.
- The Colts C boys also scored plenty of goals with Joe leading the team well. It was a tough afternoon for the Colts B who stayed positive with Harry C making excellent saves in goal.
- Our 1st X1 took on a well drilled Westbourne House team and came out victorious 3-0 winners. Samuel W making some superb driving runs into opposition territory.
- The 2nd X1 were on the wrong end of a defeat against the Copthorne 1st team. Atilla was the pick of the attackers with some thoughtful link up play.
- The 3rd team secured their first win of the season with Jacob driving the team forward with energy and passion.
- Our Year 3 & 4 children were also in action this week with the girl’s playing hockey against Lancing and the boy’s football against Copthorne. The girls played very well in hot conditions with Arabella and Lois displaying fantastic individual skill when dribbling the ball. The boys had home and away matches with strong Copthorne teams. Luka and Quinn were highlighted for their brilliant game awareness and unselfish play in both attack and defence.
Overall this week was a huge success as we had well over 100 pupils representing the school in matches. Thank you to the large amount of parental support on both match days. Next week sees even more hockey/football fixtures, alongside Swimming Gala Heats and an U10 & U11 Cross Country event at Seaford College.
