Inspired by Floella Benjamin’s childhood story Coming to England, this week we have explored key moments in her book, in particular considering her long journey from Trinidad to England with her siblings.
The Year 5 students created freeze frames to express how their character would feel as they approach the ship from the port. In groups, the Year 7 pupils chose a key moment on the journey and physicalised the scene to include thoughts, emotions and reactions of the children and also the passengers.
