Ruth Sheppard created a mix of fun and challenging questions, with ten rounds on various subjects, she ensured there was something for everyone. Even with the opportunity of playing a joker on each team’s favourite round, the scores were extremely close and it came down to just 1 point between first and second place. However, congratulations goes to this year’s winners, ‘I’m too sixy for this quiz,’ made up of a group of Year 6 parents.
We would like to thank Mr Mac who returned to the stage as quiz master extraordinaire. As always, he did an absolutely brilliant job and not only did he keep us to time, but he also created a sense of fun and added a real buzz to the evening.
The curry, supplied by Taj Mahal in Crawley, was absolutely delicious. There was a wonderful selection of samosas, onion bhajis, poppadoms, chutneys and pickles, as well as two main curry dishes served with rice. The feedback has been fantastic with everyone commenting on just how fantastic it all was. A big thank you to Niyati and Roshan Thakkar for all their support in organising it all.
Onto the bar, which did a roaring trade, selling a variety of beverages, as well as after dinner chocolate and popcorn throughout the evening. Huge thanks goes to Shelley’s Budgens for their support on this.
Congratulations also goes to Mr and Mrs Faulding who won the 50:50 raffle and who very generously gifted the money back to FoP. Thank you too, to all the Year 1 mums who helped sell the tickets on the evening as this all helped towards the overall sum raised.
Having tallied up the costs and income over the past week, we are delighted to announce that the event raised over £1,800 for Friends of Pennthorpe. The committee are currently discussing with the school to agree on where the money will be invested and we look forward to announcing it in the coming months! Finally, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the evening, assisted with the set-up, clear down and overall to making it such a success!
