This week students from Reception to Year 5 took on Spelling Competitions in their classrooms, before Year 3, 4 and 5 competed in a live final!
Year 3 had a dramatic sudden death round before the live final with two students neck and neck, taking four additional words to find their top three. Through to the final saw Christopher, Sammie and Lupe. And after a close Round 1, Sammie took the overall lead for Year 3.
In Year 4, we saw Bertie and Timmy into the final, with Edward claiming the last seat. It was the closest group ending in a live Sudden Death Spell Off between Timmy and Edward, spelling nauseating and nuisance respectively. Timmy took the win after spelling every word correctly! Year 4 in total only had two words spelt incorrectly – an amazing effort by all!
Our two previous finalists from Year 5, Charlie and Freya, were joined by Pia this year. Freya was crowned Year 5 champion for the second year in a row!
A marvellous morning had by all, with smiles on faces and cheers for their competitors. Our Year 3 to 6 audience were fantastic – celebrating the successes of their classmates! Well done to all!
