The weather was sunny and the gazebos, picnic blankets, bubbles and green dragons were out in force. The parent support for this event was spectacular and it gave the children that extra burst of energy for their events.
Throughout the morning the Prep School completed their field events and the Pre-Prep took to the track to complete in spring and egg and spoon races, javelin and beanbag throws alongside a house class relay. The teachers even competed in the annual Space Hopper race which this year was won by Miss Cooper (Y2). We are so proud of our Pre-Prep children who all were absolutely brilliant athletes and supporters.
The afternoon saw the Prep School take to the track to compete in the 200m, 800m, 75/100m and relay finals. There was also the much-anticipated parents’ race, tug of war and the house squadron relay. Winners of individual events got certificates and the overall winners in each year group received medals.
Congratulations to Tismans who won by a slim margin of 31 points, the closet Sports Day for years. Year 6 Olivia broke two school records in the U11 girls category.
Thank you to the Pennthorpe community for their unwavering support and for making it the special day that it is.
