“Year 5 had a great day at Goring beach on Tuesday. The group started by looking for crabs in the rock pools, but we weren’t very successful! We did find something really cool … a dead baby shark! It turned out it was only a dog fish, but that didn’t stop Mr Franklin singing “Baby Shark” for 10 minutes! It was sad to see the dead fish but it was good we saw something.
After we had explored a bit, we had a snack and then did three different activities all to help with our wellbeing. We had rock stacking, where you had to balance rocks on top of each other. It was quite hard but really relaxing, as you were just focused on balancing the rocks. We also wrote messages of positivity on some of the flatter rocks, so that if people picked them up they would get a nice message as well. Finally we got to throw some smaller rocks at a target to get some of our energy out, and have some fun. All of the activities were super fun, but my favourite was the rock stacking.
After that we had lunch and then… the wind picked up and we saw some kite surfers zooming around jumping into the air. To finish we went to a grassy area behind the beach and had some free time to play games and relax with our friends.
After an awesome day, we got in the minibuses and drove back to school.”
