The class used redundant pallets from the playground refurbishment together with bamboo canes, cardboard, twigs, wood chippings and even pine cones to build a bug hotel in the woods. The idea is that the hotel will provide a habitat to boost the number of invertebrates in our woods for scientific study, as well as providing a food source for birds. After all their hard work they enjoyed an ice cream treat too!
