This was the first time that Year 8 have attempted this quite advanced experiment. DCPIP is reduced from a blue colour to colourless by the action of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Unsurprisingly the orange contained the most Vitamin C.

Our Year 8 students devised an experiment to use the reagent DCPIP to test three fruits for their relative vitamin C content.
