Year 5 loved their morning in wellies and waterproofs and they were needed! Once stick sailing was completed, wading along the stream became an activity of choice with their squeals and laughter echoing through the trees.

Following their Core Value focussed ’10 things to do’ activity sheets, the children searched for funghi, whittled sticks, toasted a tasty marshmallow, became bug hunters, built a den and even created potions. No Forest School day in February would be complete without some good old-fashioned mudslides! The children loved the opportunity to slide down the muddy slopes with pure joy, and impressive balance.

The morning was a test of teamwork and creativity and the children embraced the mud and chilly air with incredible positivity and spirit returning to school with muddy clothes, big smiles, and memories that will last a lifetime.
