Unfortunately the weather was against us, but we rearranged the matches to be indoors and played some bench ball instead. Matches in Year 2 are all about providing the pupils (and parents) with a ‘match day’ experience and allowing the children to play some semi-competitive sport in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. The children played incredibly well and showed plenty of ambition, collaboration and kindness towards each other and the opposition. No scores were kept, but plenty of points were scored by both schools and everyone enjoyed fixture. A huge thanks to Mrs Partridge who umpired a court and to Duke of Kent who were excellent opposition.

On Wednesday, we welcomed Duke of Kent School to Pennthorpe to play netball with our Year 2 children.
I was happy that the match wasn't cancelled because I was looking forward to seeing what team I was in. Knowing that we were playing against another school, I felt nervous but I also felt happy.William, Year 2
I had a lot of fun and it was amazing to play against another school.Isla & Bella, Year 2
