During their PSHEE/Wellbeing lesson the Year 1 children listened to the story ‘The Grizzly Bear who lost his GRRRR’.
In this story each year, for as long as the forest has stood, a contest is held for the bears of the wood… Fred is the champion. He’s the best. But being the best takes time and training, especially when it comes to having the loudest growl. Then, one morning, disaster strikes—Fred’s GRRRRR is gone! Boris Bear had taken his GRRRR whilst Fred had slept and hid it in the forest.
The children discussed how they felt sorry for Fred and that Boris had been dishonest. They then came together and explored what being honest means, times where they have been honest and the importance of honesty.
The children then drew their very own Fred Bear using the book’s very own illustrator tutorial and designed a special honesty medal. Click here to see how to draw Fred.
