They were so creative and used a variety of media including video, clay, Plasticine, straws, coloured string, bottles, felt tips, T shirts and cardboard to represent the heart, lungs and associated systems.
The class also investigated the relationship between ‘lung capacity’ and ‘height’ using Peak Flow meters. This lead to discussions on the effects of exercise, asthma and age, in addition to the application of such devices to monitor lung performance during training and illness to identify possible causes of improvement or deterioration.
