During the session, students learned about Hinamatsuri, also known as Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day, which is celebrated in Japan on March 3rd. Although it is a religious observance, it is not a national holiday. The tradition involves displaying a set of ornamental dolls (hina) on platforms covered with red carpet material, representing the Emperor and Empress. Students then designed their own origami Emperor and Empress. To conclude the session, they tested their dexterity by trying to use chopsticks.
