Take a look at some of the fun activities the children have been up to for Maths Spotlight Week!
Each year group has been involved in special lessons, involving fun, engaging activities with a focus on shape. For example the Year 3 children put their knowledge of archaeology to the test and showed off their excavation skills! The children worked collaboratively to uncover artefacts from the sand. They then filled out a mathematical archaeologist’s report, measuring the length, weight and deciding what shape each artefact was. Well done mini archaeologists!

Year 5 and 6 have taken part in a Countdown Conundrum, combining Literacy and Numeracy skills.
The Year 3 and 5 students joined forces and work collaboratively to use toothpicks and marshmallows to explore the properties of 3D shapes.
Fun was had, although some Marshmallows went unaccounted for.....Mr Lindfield, Head of Maths
The Year 2 children went on a shape hunt all around the school. They called it “Maths is everywhere!”
