Books we enjoy reading is such a conversation starter at Pennthorpe, and a range of fantastic books is being put together, recommending selected books for each year group. This will be a “go to” list for the children, to develop a range of reading preferences including authors past and present, widen vocabulary range, increase risk taking with genre and develop our love of reading at Pennthorpe even more! The recommended reads for each year group will then form the Pennthorpe Reading Pathway, for children to follow on their journey through the school.
How Can I Help With The Pennthorpe Reading Pathway?
In order to be a part of this collaboration within the Pennthorpe community, we would like you to help select the books to feature in the Pennthorpe Reading Pathway. If you have a book you would like to put forward as a suggestion, please create a video, considering the following:
- The book you recommend needs to be for your current year group (the year group you will be leaving in July 2023)
- Clearly say the title of your book and the author (show the book in the video of you have a copy) and give at least three reasons why your book should earn a place in the Pennthorpe Reading Pathway.
