Books we enjoy reading is such a conversation starter at Pennthorpe, and a range of fantastic books is being put together, recommending selected books for each year group. We would like to gather more of the children’s suggestions for our Pennthorpe Reading Pathway, our recommended books to read for each year group as they journey through the school. The whole school community is invited to join in with ideas, making this a team effort!
How Can My Child Take Part?
Pre-Prep
Fill in the form below to tell us which book(s) you enjoy reading the best and would like to see on a list of reading books for your year group. The Pennthorpe Reading Pathway will then be made from among your suggestions, for the whole school! Think about the books you’ve enjoyed reading the most and would love to see included. You’ll earn a house point for each book suggestion.
For ideas and reminders of great books, take a look at Booktrust’s website and search for the relevant age group.
Add a picture of your favourite part of your chosen book some writing about it. Each picture and each sentence will earn a house point.
Prep School
Complete the form below to tell us which book(s) you would like to see recommended on a list for your year group. The Pennthorpe Reading Pathway will be created from among your suggestions, recommending reading books for the whole school! Think about the books you’ve enjoyed reading the most, and would love to see included. You’ll earn a house point for each book suggestion. Write a favourite quote from the book you are recommending and gain an extra house point! It could be an inspirational, powerful phrase one character has said to another, or a descriptive sentence from a book, which has captured your imagination. Let’s get as many recommendations and phrases together as we can!
