A round up of the boys’ matches…
- Wednesday took the worst of the cancellations, with 1sts, 2nds, 3rds and Colts B unfortunately having the afternoon off – luckily Mr Franklin came to the rescue and organised some fun indoor games for the boys to let off some steam!
- Meanwhile, the Colts A were up on the field and in the mud for a competitive tournament, playing some of their finest football to date. The team won 3 of their 4 matches, displaying top tier teamwork and team spirit. Callum not only had a strong stint as goalkeeper, but contributed further up field as well with some strong decisive passes and a few goals of his own.
- On Thursday we welcomed Farlington Year 3s and 4s for plenty of exciting matches across the age group. The boys had a huge amount of fun in the muddy conditions, but it didn’t stop them from playing some fantastic football, coming out with three wins and two draws overall. Lachie played the role of super sub superbly, ensuring he impacted every game he got stuck into, whilst Noah showed his shooting skills with some strong and confident goals. In the U8s, William took onboard coaching points and held his position well to create space and got himself a couple of goals in the process! Bryn also had a superb game, giving everything he had and making his presence known all over the pitch whilst also scoring a brace for the team. A fantastic group of games to finish their football season on a high.
And the girl’s matches:
- Hockey was unaffected by the conditions, and Colts B battled in a close 7-7 draw against Westbourne House. Everyone showed outstanding determination and team spirit to keep the score level, with Charlotte getting in on the action and bagging herself her first hockey match goal – a fantastic way to end the season!
- Outside, the 2nds participated in an U11 tournament, where both teams fought valiantly against some very strong opposition. All involved gave 100% effort throughout, with one team finishing a respectable 4th, whilst the others clinched the title and added another piece of silverware to the Pennthorpe cabinet – huge well done to everyone!
