Our teams ventured out despite the cold this week, with our boys engaged in rugby matches versus Copthorne, and the girls battling on the netball court versus Belmont and St Hilary’s.

The frozen ground this week meant that some of our rugby matches couldn’t take place, however rugby for our younger boys was relocated to our all-weather MUGA, and played as tag rather than contact. We were delighted to get some match time, and with sub-zero temperatures, the key for all players was to keep moving!

For the girls’ netball, there’s no such thing as bad weather. Teams of all ages took to the courts for fast and physical play, which kept the girls warm and tested their agility.

The support from our families on the side lines really helped keep motivation high, and kept the Pennthorpe players going despite the cold.

In place of cancelled rugby matches, our older boys had fun competing in an impromptu House Basketball tournament. It was a terrific contest, with some very closely matched games.
