🏏Mid week all the teams all played cricket against St Edmunds this week with had some exciting games:
- The U12 mixed team led by Mr Mac were at Hindhead CC to play St Edmunds. Pennthorpe batted first, recovered well after poor start to reach 94. Good aggressive batting/calling from all the players. 1 fielder less than then, almost kept them short but not quite.
- The U12’s mixed team led by Mr Lindfield were at home against St Edmund’s. A good game, in hot heat! A few too many fielding errors allowed St Edmunds to get too many 4’s. We lost wickets at crucial times but it was a really good effort from all involved as it was a very close game.
- The Mixed Colts A were at home. Pennthorpe won the toss and chose to field. Everyone bowled well and special credit to Will taking a leg side catch. It was the Hector show with the bat who scored a classy 52. Credit to the Year 5 boys for hitting the winning runs in a tight finish.
- The Mixed Colts B were away at Churt CC against St Edmunds. Pennthorpe won the toss and decided to field. After a good start with good fielding from Sam W and Hugo and good bowling from Zahira, it was a good start but a strong batting partnership from St Edmunds got them to 138 after their 16 overs. Pennthorpe lost a couple of early wickets but Romilly and Aryan steadied the ship but some late wickets proved to be costly with Pennthorpe coming up short.
- The Mixed Colts C were at King George’s playing fields. Pennthorpe bowled really well in the first innings with Anaya with the pick of the bowling. With the batting, Pennthorpe put a good chase on but sadly came up short.
- The Mixed Colt Ds were away with the Mixed Colt Es. A great game with some positive play throughout from the Colts D. The children all displayed great fielding skills, with strong backing up! The communication in batting was superb. A well matched game by all!
- It was a great team effort from the Mixed Colts E. They worked hard in the field on a very hot day. There were some strong hits got us some fours but need to stronger with bowling.
- The Mixed Colts F had a very close game with St Edmunds. There were some big hitting and some great fielding all round but unfortunately came up just short.
- The U8/9s had some good fixtures this week with cricket. 3 teams travelled to St Edmunds and All the games were very exciting with some great bowling, fielding and batting all round.
