A round up of the boys’ matches…
- The U13As went away to St Edmunds on Wednesday. It was a very close game against St Edmunds with a great effort by all and some really grit and determination! Henry stood out with his performance in defence and work rate round the pitch.
- The U13Bs had another close game right to the end against St Edmunds with Jamie standing out with his performance in defence and making great passes up the pitch.
- The U11As were at home on the astro against St Edmunds, started off really close, but the end result went in Pennthorpe’s favour with Hector showing great playmaking throughout the game.
- U11Bs showed excellent strength on the ball and good composure in the D to control the game throughout with Felix being a constant rock in defence.
- After the U11As and Bs played their games on the astro, the U11 Cs and Ds played their games. The U11Cs had their best performance of the season so far with them dominating in possession and being dominant in attack especially with Bertie scoring a 3 goals in the game. The U11Ds had a very good game with the score being 0-0 at half time. In the second half both teams got tired and the game became more open. Noah stood out in the midfield being reliable where ever he went on the pitch.
- To play indoor hockey, the Year 4 boys travelled to Hurst. The games were played at a breakneck pace because there were “bumpers” on the sidelines to ensure that the ball was always in play! Our boys adjusted well to the ball’s rapid movement and continued to try to utilise the width of the field when attacking. The entire afternoon, both teams scored a tonne of goals while displaying great bravery.
And for the girls….
- The U13 girls went to the Belmont football festival on Wednesday. The girls had a really good time, played really good football. There were two mini tournaments running side to side and both teams got to the final of each. One final went to golden goal, which means the match ended in a draw and then the first team to score after full time wins the game, and the other game went down to a penalty shootout. Both teams won the final of the festival! The girls scored the golden goal and also won the penalty shootout with Bella with a huge save in the shootout to make us have the upper hand. Congrats to both teams on winning the entire festivals.
- The U11/10s were at home playing against Duke of Kent. The girls put up a great fight and all worked as a team to score the highest result of their season! A total of 4 goals with superb defence from Summer and Holly . The attack worked the ball around well with some strong shots on goal and a brilliant long-distance goal at the end by Vivi!
- Our U8/9 teams also went to Belmont to play in their football festival. A fantastic attitude was demonstrated by the whole squad. There was some really great football and some wonderful goals! Well done girls!!!
