The Pennthorpe community has achieved an extraordinary milestone this year by collecting approximately 1000 kilograms of reusable clothing for Bags of Support, a charity based in West Sussex. This incredible effort highlights our community’s dedication to helping others and making a positive impact far beyond the locality.

The collected clothing, organised by our very own Friends of Pennthorpe, included items for all ages and has been sent to a community in Uganda, where it will provide much-needed resources for those in need. The donations have found new homes to many individuals.

Organising such a large-scale collection requires significant effort and coordination with the success of this initiative testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. From the initial idea to the final shipment, every step was made possible by the collective efforts of volunteers, donors, and organisers.

The impact of these donations goes beyond just providing clothing and can not be underestimated. We look forward to continuing our efforts in the future – with the success of this year’s collection serving as inspiration for future initiatives, demonstrating the power of collective action and the profound impact it can have on communities near and far.
