Pennthorpe are delighted to be presented with two native fruit trees by our in-house catering team, Holroyd Howe, enabling us to take part in the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative. The tree gift pack containing a Crab Apple and a Wild Pear tree were chosen for their hardiness and blossom which is loved by bees, and will be a wonderful addition to our school grounds.

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.  Inviting people from across the United Kingdom to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’ and register each tree on the Queen’s Green Canopy online map.  In an effort to support our environment and with a focus on planting sustainably, this initiative actively promotes the benefits to all involved in planting trees.

Both trees will be planted today at our Queen’s Jubilee Themed Sports Day, celebrated by our Pennthorpe team, children and families.
