The girls were ready to go first thing, wrapped up warm in minus temperatures with matching hair and head bands: they all looked the part!

Our team played 6 games in their group against some strong well-drilled large prep schools but worked hard as a team and supported each other well across the pitch. The girls kept fighting in what can only be described as sub 0 temperatures and went on to qualify for the shield in the afternoon.

They then moved on to the water based pitch in the afternoon and played another two games to play off for the shield. As a squad they played brilliantly and achieved two wins, making them the winners of the U12 IAPS shield. All the girls were excellent squad players, they supported and encouraged each other throughout the day and the whole day was a great experience show casing some amazing hockey from all over the country.
