As part of our World Book Week celebrations, Pennthorpe was delighted to host a whole school Book Fair in partnership with the wonderful team from Waterstones. The event was an incredible success, sparking joy and excitement among our young readers while promoting a love for books and storytelling.
Each year group had the opportunity to explore the fantastic selection of books available, immersing themselves in the magic of reading. With their World Book Day tokens in hand, the children eagerly browsed through the collection, discovering new stories, favourite authors, and inspiring characters along the way.
The enthusiasm was palpable as the children excitedly selected their books, discussing their finds with friends and teachers. The atmosphere was filled with curiosity and wonder, reinforcing the importance of reading for pleasure and the joy that books bring to our lives.
A few fun facts from the event: an incredible 202 World Book Day tokens were redeemed, and a whopping 347 books were purchased! These numbers highlight just how much our Pennthorpe students value reading and storytelling.
