🎞️ Come with me and you’ll be, in a world of pure imagination…
The school has been buzzing today with chatter between pupils and staff alike, about books and book characters involved in our whole school dress-up! The children also had great fun posing in their costumes for our whole school photo shoot.
Though out the week there has been a packed programme of book-centred events, starting with an inspiring assembly and workshop sessions for Prep pupils with Lindsay Galvin, historical fiction author, based on her super book, Call Of The Titanic. The children were truly spellbound by her story and presentation.
On Tuesday Pre Prep were treated to a visit from author, Kate Thompson with a very special interactive reading of her book, Superheroes Don’t Get Scared….Or Do They? The children enjoyed looking for “baddies” and singing the superhero song!
Book-related fun has continued throughout the week, with “Guess the Shelfie” (children guess from photos of bookshelf locations from around the school), “The Masked Reader”, videos, where children guess the staff member from a recorded reading in disguise! Everyone has enjoyed Staff reading sessions in the Library. The children have also been involved in creative writing inspired by our very own “Woody the Wizard” carving which stands proudly in our play area, plus a Horrible Histories session for Prep. We are looking forward to a Webinar tomorrow, in conjunction with Read for Good who are behind Readathon, which all the children will be involved in towards the end of March. May the reading continue!
