Some children in Year 3&4 took part in an English Enrichment session today which focused on writing creatively based on personal experiences. The children spent some time in the woods thinking about different senses and planning their writing before returning to the classroom to turn their ideas into an extended piece. When writing independently, the children considered varying sentence length and sentence starters whilst also trying to include figurative language in their work. They finished by working collaboratively with a Year 8 pupil who supported them in reviewing their work and using adventurous vocabulary whilst building tension.
